Dr. Nina Tandon is the CEO and co-founder of EpiBone, the first company to bring stem-cell grown living bone into human clinical trials. A TED Senior Fellow with degrees from Cooper Union, MIT, and Columbia, she speaks on the convergence of biology, AI, and business at stages including TED, the World Economic Forum, and the White House.

Dr. Nina Tandon is the CEO and co-founder of EpiBone, the biotech company growing living, anatomically precise bone and cartilage from patients' own stem cells — and the first to bring a stem-cell engineered living bone into human clinical trials. She holds a PhD in biomedical engineering and an MBA from Columbia University, a master's in bioelectrical engineering from MIT, and a degree in electrical engineering from The Cooper Union, where she later taught as an adjunct professor. A TED Senior Fellow and co-author of Super Cells: Building with Biology, she has been named to Fast Company's 100 Most Creative People in Business and Crain's 40 Under 40, and her work has been featured by Netflix, NPR, Bloomberg, WIRED, and Scientific American. She keynotes worldwide on longevity science, personalized medicine, and the convergence of AI and biotech.

Dr. Nina Tandon is a tissue engineer and entrepreneur working to change the status quo of healthcare by building the world's first "body shop" of replacement human parts grown from a patient's own cells. As CEO and co-founder of EpiBone, she leads the team that brought the first stem-cell engineered living bone into human clinical trials, raising $50 million and building a state-of-the-art cGMP facility along the way.

Nina came to biology through electricity. She began her career engineering telecom networks at Avaya Labs, then followed a Fulbright Scholarship to Rome to work on an electronic nose used to "smell" lung cancer. A master's in bioelectrical engineering at MIT and a PhD at Columbia followed, where she used electrical signals to coax heart cells into beating in unison. She completed an MBA in healthcare entrepreneurship at Columbia Business School, because the lab bench alone can't carry a discovery to a patient.

A TED Senior Fellow, she has spoken at TED three times, at the World Economic Forum in Davos and China, the Milken Institute Global Conference, TEDMED, and the White House Summit on Biotechnology and Biomanufacturing, along with Fortune 500 companies including Google, JP Morgan Chase, Amgen, and American Express. She is the co-author of Super Cells: Building with Biology (TED Books), and her honors include Fast Company's 100 Most Creative People in Business, World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer, Crain's New York 40 Under 40, Goldman Sachs' 100 Most Intriguing Entrepreneurs, and the EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women program.

Nina serves on the Board of Visitors of Columbia Engineering and the Tissue Engineering Advisory Group of the Alliance for Regenerative Medicine, and guest lectures at Columbia and MIT. Her work has been featured by Netflix's "Human: The World Within," NPR's TED Radio Hour, Bloomberg, WIRED, Fast Company, and Scientific American.
